I had posted earlier saying pretty much the same thing. I held a
USCG 500T ticket for many, many years and made a good living
with it. When I saw what began happening after the Coast Guard
was allowed to begin charging fee"s I got out of the business. Sea
time needed for qualifying to be able to take the test became a joke.
Anybody and just about everybody that applied could walk away
with a ticket.
