T&T: Onboard Protection

Having spent more than 30 years in Law Enforcement I always consider this...

When it comes to decision time - always remember the Law Enforcement Creed -
"It is much better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6."

Great post.

I have a number of friends in law enforcement and I have always received the

same advice from them. If you have a problem that involves breaking out a
firearm, shoot to kill. This always leaves one less story for the report.

There's an old saying, "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight" and I think it is

most apropos in terms of this discussion. If the offending party is armed
with more than pepper spray and a can of Raid, then you should be as well.
Anything less puts you at a distinct disadvantage.

If you read the list of reports collected on that site Don Weiss offered,
you will see that most of the serious crimes occurred when the offending
party was armed with guns and machetes. Something tells me that coming to
the door with a can of bug spray isn't going to send them running for cover.
