T&T: Don't use silicone on boats

I am going to replace the ports on my GS43 this Spring.  I am going to use
Beckson ports.  In thier instuctions it says "Beckson recommends 100%
Silicone sealant only"  I also talked with Jamestown Distributors and they
also recommended that and sent me 3M Marine Grade Silicone sealant.

Assuming I install the ports correctly and they happen to leak, I can just
imagine the first question out of Beckson's mouth.  What kind of sealant did
you use?
