T&T: W H autopilot

We have an old WH auto pilot on our Defever 44boat.  When we bought it a
year ago July I was going to replace with a "new improved" model from Ray
Marine.  Then I did some research - the  Whale auto pilot has performed
flawlessly -- it is simple and Will and company have been great when we had
a small problem with the remote.  You are right - they are a quality
product.

Happy New Year to all,

I just returned from the PNW, It snowed. Among other projects for the  
trip I managed to visit the home of W H autopilots, Bainbridge  
Island. At which time W H owner Will Hamm showed me the factory,  
projects existing and in progress, as well as making whole my damaged  
motor control (yes, the damage was owner abuse).

When people and equipment perform well I believe we should say so.  
This is me saying so.

They have been discovered though so there is a wait for new  
equipment. This equipment is worth the wait. People were available  
and knowledgeable to help while I installed and later transfered the  
system to a second vessel. ( the unit was too good to give away with  
the low ball offer on the first boat ).

If the rudder is still on your boat,  these units will hold you on a  
straight course.
