T&T: re Holding Tank-Macerator Pump

1.How to know when pump has evacuated holding tank: Watch the ammeter on the
electric panel.  It will change when the tank is empty.
2. Impeller spins on shaft making pump useless.  A frequent cause is dental
floss which was flushed down the toilet.  It wraps around the shaft and
destroys the bearings or wraps around the impeller jamming it so the impeller
breaks loose from its shaft.  Floss also presents problems in municipal waste
systems by destroying pumps of all types.
3. Moral of the story; Dispose of floss properly.
