Happy New Years-
We've lost sight of the original post, but maybe the following can help in someway.
Consider going for function. Bow thrusters, like ground tackle, need to be sized for the worst conditions that can be encountered, not typical conditions. Cannot speak for others, but our experiences are that problems seldom become a bother in light winds; now heavier conditions don't seem to carry that same dictum. Maybe so should all the ancillary bits and pieces be sized this way.
Also, we seem to think that any gear that is chosen needs to not only work, but to work as long as it is needed, an often neglected aspect. With bow thrusters this seems to incorportate thinking towards high winds and prolonged docking scenarios.
In that vain, the manufacturers should be able shed light on their product's abilities and probably offer suggestions in sizing their thrusters to suit your needs. I suspect that the same will apply to batteries, etc.
We also find that the manufacturers, though often not willing to sell direct, will, if asked, aim someone towards the wholesalers/retailers with the better prices.
