I understand the need to "hear" the fuel return to the tank but if the system is set up properly overfilling should not be an issue. Returning the fuel this way will filter the fuel but the next time the fuel is agitated in the tank and the gunk that has settled on the bottom is stirred up you are back to square one. In order for any system to "polish" the fuel it needs to agitate the fuel in the tank and especially at the bottom. Failing to do that you have a filter enhancing system instead of a fuel cleaning system. Failing this you will need to have the tanks cleaned on a regular schedule to get the stuff off the bottom and sides. Chuck
