T&T: Re Spot

In kayaking circles the reports are much less glowing. Coast Guard is said not
to be happy that the unit can apparently go into emergency mode accidently.
There have supposedly been several such rescues initiated only to find the
victim didn't knowingly send out the alarm. One report said the CG was now
checking in with the family members before setting off. Good technology and
great idea, but apparently still some bugs to work out on the ground.
The
topic has been dead for a month or more now, but if it gets back on the lists
I read I will cross post anything reported abut the CG's position on this
list.
