Looking at the picture of the proposed 118 Wally monstrosity, I'd be more inclined to phrase it
that not only did the designer not have the upper hand, but rather he didn't have a clue what he
was doing! :-)
Ignoring the fact that the house is almost totally enclosed with no windows except for the ones
facing forward, the ridiculous air scoops on the hull side really were a hoot. Those scoops
worked well on the F-15 fighter plane where they sucked copious quantities of clean air into the
fighter's engines. However if Wally ever built that crazy design, I can just imagine what those
scoops would be sucking in the first time the boat hits a good sized sea.
