To test gas ethanol amounts, I have used this inexpensive test kit you can
pick up at any Briggs and Stratton dealer have used it for years about $6.00

mid grade gasoline usually has less ethanol, which will if you think about
it make all lines and gaskets also last longer simply a better fuel for
outboards and any small motor.
you may also want to check your gas lines on that 15yamaha there is a small
O-ring in the quick connect that will cause a lot of problems when it leaks
a small amount of air, especially when a motor runs with the choke out
better than choke-in
good luck
