T&T: Raymarine to PC connection

I have a Raymarine system that has a monochrome R80+ chart plotter/radar
display at its center.  It uses the Seatalk network to interface with the
R70CRC color display on the bridge (the PO only drove from the bridge) and
the depth sounder.  Since I purchased a copy of Coastal Explorer at the
Seattle Boat Show I now have an interest in interfacing the PC and EC with
the Raymarine system.  
 
The R80+ has an NMEA output on the back of the chassis and I have an unused
Seatalk connection.  Has anyone on the list done this interface?  How did
you make it work?  Were you able to also include a 3rd party autopilot?
