So now the Government has changed its collective mind once again.
"House Approves DTV Delay Legislation
By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 2/4/2009 1:16:00 PM
Washington The House of Representatives approved legislation
Wednesday, 264-158, to delay the analog cutoff TV date 115 days to
June 12, 2009."
Our company (in the home electronics industry) has already received
hundreds of calls from angry customers charging us with scare tactics
designed to get them to spend $40.00 for converter boxes. This despite
the fact that we sell the boxes for $40.00 minus the $40.00 government
coupon. It is a money loosing situation for us.
We have printed and are distributing a flyer to our customers giving
them the methods of addressing House Energy & Commerce Committee
Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), 202) 225-4099 (fax), and House
Telecommunications & Internet Chairman Rick Boucher (D-Va.)
option=com_content&task=view&id=645&Itemid=) to get his email form.
Customers can ask these two gentlemen if the new date is "real" or just
another governmental exercise at the publics cost.
To keep this post on boating related business. My wife and I have
decided not to add a TV to our new boat.
