The Chitosan website quotes an article in The Telegraph (UK) headlined -
"Battlefield death rates cut in half"

and goes on to IMPLY that their wound dressings are responsible for much of
this.
Later the article balances this with
"but military chiefs believe the use of large Chinook and Merlin helicopters
carrying an anaesthetist or emergency medical consultant plus four medics
are the key factor."
A useful item to have in the First Aid Kit nevertheless (the Chitosan not
the medivac chopper).
