Especially when the implied accuracy  fails to materialize.
Bathysmetric charts  of oceans  tend to use a 50 or 100 meter square 
resolution. Not exactly the same as we are ued to  on most  coastal and near 
shore charts with 25,000:1  or 50,000:1  scaling.

although these bathysmetric  google maps  look impressive and detailed; in 
actual fact they are a long ways from being even close to  normal 
hydrographuc charts.
