T&T: Generator Radiator cap problem

Have not had the problem, but I would strongly suspect one of three
reasons (in most to least order of my suspicions):
1. Overfilling the header tank. --- The cool to just warm (can stick
your finger in it with impunity) level of the water/anti-freeze mix
should be about one inch below the lower seal level of the rad cap. If
higher, expansion will pump some out to that level no matter what you do.
2. Heat Exchanger Leak --- Failing the above, then I would suspect
that your heat exchanger has a leak from the raw water side to the
anti-freeze side. Pressure test to find out. If you need help on how,
let me know.
3. Manifold Water Jacket Leak --- It is possible (but not likely)
that the water cooled exhaust manifold jacket has a leak that is allowing
exhaust pressure to invade the water/anti-freeze side of the cooling
system.

My 5.5 Onan genny will pump water out the overflow line on the radiator cap,
after start up. I replaced the old radiator cap, the spring was busted,
however, it still pumps this water out the overflow tube while running.
Any had such a problem?
Thanks
See you on the Waterways!
