T&T: How Far South?

John,
I have been doing research on this for the past few months. For out
of the water with no winterization and no heat, my guess is that you
would need to be as far south as Daytona Beach. Last winter
Brunswick, GA had temps in the teens. Leaving the boat in the water
and having some source of heat would mean that you could stay further
north. I have chosen a marina in New Bern, NC and I will leave the
boat's heat on. This section on NC stays warmer than points further
south because of the proximity of the Gulf Stream.
A lot depends on where your water lines are run. If the are in the
middle of the boat and below the water line they will be more
protected. Don't forget about swim platform showers and anchor washdowns.
My cat is particularly vulnerable because the water lines run between
hulls by passing through and aft lazerette right at the stern.
