T&T: air duct filter

I would relocate the intake with a short piece of duct and avoid flow  
loss/maintenance.  If it's heat you are after - near the  ceiling.  Fumes - 
lower in the bilge.  Also, if you have a choice,  away from the engine room 
fresh air intakes to avoid short circuiting.
