T&T: Outboard motors

John,

I have an 11' Avon that will just plane with two aboard with an old 6 hp 2
stroke. The longer the dinghy, the easier to plane. I am changing to my
15hp this week so that I can more easily plane with 2 or more or with
supplies. I would think that a 4 stroke will be less power for the weight
and most likely will not plane the boat.
