MArk Richter, who used to hang around here a lot, was a proponent of the bow eye. Makes a lot of sense to me, once one has a system to get the rode through the eye. I always hated being in a nice shallow 5' anchorage, but then have to add another 7' of bow height to the water depth, before multiplying by scope. -- Jim Ague
