why do you feel you need help to run your boat? it's nice to have some
company but the ICW is pretty easy to run, sheltered, and with a smaller
boat, your have many places where you can drop the hook if tired or want to
take a break. I've run most of it alone (with a 70 footer) it's no big
deal.
as to docks, locals can probably point you in the rigth direction but just
south of Myrtle Beach is Bucksport Marina on the Waccamaw, they are pretty
cheap. you may was to look at that.
In norfolk there are many marinas but again cost may not be cheap, maybe
just south of newport in Great Bridge or even Coinjock. Coinjock is a
transient place but they may have monthly deals.
