I am slowly, but steadily, working my way North to Rhode Island on my 34' Marine Trader. Ripple started on March 30th in Port Charlotte, on Florida's West Coast and has come across Lake Okeechobee and up the East Coast as far as Myrtle Beach on the NC/SC border; about 850 miles The next leg, I hope, will get me to Norfolk VA, about 345 miles farther along.
I've managed to get this far with the help of friends, each giving me a week of their time. I'm now out of friends able to do that at this point. My best option, I think, is to find a cheap safe place to keep the boat for a month 'till I can find other help to get up the Chesapeake and on up to RI.
I'm hoping the list can offer me ideas about places I can leave the boat. Cost is a big concern; anybody got a spare dock they aren't using and willing to rent it out for a month? Anybody know someone who does? How 'bout ideas about what marinas are in the area of ICW marker 0?
I'd consider paying someone to do the second/third/&fourth weeks of May to try to get the rest of the way then, but I don't think I can pay enough to make it worth while for anyone.
This group has helped me many times over the past few years, I'm hoping to hear your ideas, advise, suggestions, opinions, and recommendations. Thanks to all.
