I would suggest that the 35 Delta is way undersized for your boat. It is about
the minimum we would use on our MT34. We have used Delta's in the past with
good success but the anchoring "system" needs to be sized appropriately for
the particular boat. Chuck

I have a 42' Present that has huge windage. I 'enjoyed' dragging the
other night in a calm but wind swept anchorage with my as purchased 35# Delta
setup (the PO had a spare the same size, which I already sold). It was a
mud/sand bottom, it was set well, and I used 7:1 chain, but my boat is just
too big for this anchor in Neuse River mud for real sleep. This is not the
first time this happened.

I know plows are not the best in mud, but they sure fit well in my pulpit.
I also have a 35# Danforth High Tensile that seems to do a good job in
mud, but it is set up on rope which with my windlass setup would not be a one
man remote control process (very nice feature that the PO created). This
anchor is not a natural for my arrangement as the primary anchor, but I am
going to play with it some more.

I have a nice 44# hinged plow (the brand with the grease fitting in the
joint) in storage, but I am not sure I will gain much in holding over the 35
pounder.
