Not if you buy water in the (multi-)gallon sizes. Supermarkets sell these 
for about 80 cents a gallon. A gallon for drinking, cooking, coffee, ... for 
two people lasts about a day or two. Not really a budget buster.

We try not to ingest shower water, nor toothpaste spittle. As a precaution 
we add a tbsp of bleach with each 150 gallon tank filling.
