Once again hello all,
I am having the bottom blasted this week, in preparation of taking care of any
& all needed work, ( blisters, etc.). We will need to prep & paint the bottom
once all of the work is completed, and I would like to get some feedback from
the list as to the best way to get this done.
Some information on the boat:
1990 Bluewater that has spent most of its life in fresh water. Currently
located in the Upper Mississippi. Will remain in fresh water for the next
year or two at least. Eventually headed for salt water & the Great Loop.
Once we begin the Loop we will become full time cruisers. Until then the boat
will be in the Upper Mississippi during the summer, and in the southern rivers
system in the winter. Never being involved in this particular process I am
sure the list will need additional information that I have left out. Please
let me know, and I will provide all the necessary info. As to the type, and
name of barrier coats & paint to use will also be very helpful, but I realize
there will be many different opinions as to which will work best. It will be
my job to make the final decision, but all suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.
As I am sure this topic has come up before, I will leave it up to all those
who respond whether you do so on or off list.
Thank you all for any info. offered.
