For what it's worth, last week I put into service an "atomic clock" made by
Lacrosse:

According to the manual, it checks the WWV signal at night when propagation
is best. After the first night the clock display indicated that it had
"made contact" and was working properly (western NC).

The National Geographic Xmas gift catalog advertises an "Atomic" clip
watch for $60 that sets the time to a thousandth of a second accuracy
by receiving the WWV transmissions form Colorado.
