T&T: Hurricane frequency increase - an illusion?

Larry,

It's pretty simple. More and more people are moving to those areas and the 
people who live there are building more and more elegant structures.

My brother was an agent for State Farm in Houston. When Andrew hit  Fl, the 
company told him that if it had hit Houston, it would have put them out of 
business. At that point, company policy was to no longer offer homeowner's 
policies to anyone who did not already have automobile policies. They began 
to diversify their sales away from the coast for that very reason.
