T&T: A nagging question

Sound probable for past generations, but the more I read about marine
insurance, the more I am convinced modern insurance is issued under the
assumption that the owner had better be involved in a knowledgeable way to
get any money out of them after an insurable incident.  I don't mean it as
an indictment, just the way it is or maybe ought to be.
