We plan to haul in mid to late October and have the hull prepped to dry all
winter and barrier coat mid-spring. I know it hasn't been done in at least 14
years. After we had her out for almost 9 months for a repower (a lot of that
time just sitting for the winter), she dried and lost a great deal of water
weight -- sat noticably higher in the water initially before reabsorbing water
weight.
I've done some searching on the Net and understand the importance of getting
the hull dry below a certain level of moisture (don't recall it now). Also
understand the importance of getting sufficient thickness in at least a couple
of coats of epoxy. What other things should I be concerned about? Do thru
hulls and transducers pose any kind of a problem? What practical advice can
the List provide? Thanks.
