T&T: Life Expectancy of ElectraSan

We have an Electra San on our Albin 43. Because we are in the Chesapeake 
Bay we use a salt feed tank (from the manufacturer) to add salt to the 
mix for more efficient processing.
We winterize carefully (no pink stuff!) and bring the system up 
carefully in the spring as well (LOTS of water tank changes before we 
hook up the fresh water feed to the salt tank and start using it.)
In the experience of other Electra San owners, how often do you have to 
do any kind of service on it? Minor service, major service? What is the 
life expectancy of the system? What kinds of variables can shorten the 
life span of the components?
