Hi all,
I am replacing alternators on my Cummins 6BT5.9M 210hp engines. I am using
"stock" alternators, nothing fancy. Currently they have 3 wires hooked up to
them, hot lead from the starter, pulse wire for the tach, & a wire from the
key switch to energize.
It has been suggested to me that the alternators have an additional wire to
ground. What says the group? Where would I run this gound wire to? There is
an "open" ground wire that is near the alternator, can I use this.
Thnaks in advance,
Andy Becker
