T&T: Winter Bubbler's

I'm located in the mid-atlantic on the Chesapeake. For $400 to $500 I
got a unit that had a motor and prop at the fall Annapolis power boat
show. I would have paid that amount per month for land storage plus the
cost of the haul and don't even mention the shrink wrap. I can't
remember the exact cost, but we had rounded up 4 boats and were able to
get a great price, well below internet prices, with the buy. The
skipper of "Her Harley" (our anointed point gal) was a delight to watch
as she bargained.
So don't be shy about asking for "Your best, boat show, for me only" price.
No problems last winter. Even with a power outage, and we get'em here
(Hanna's coming and as I'm typing this, I'm filling up the bath tubs so
I can flush the toilets! when we loose power, I'm on a well!) the
freezing that took place was still thin by the time the power came back
on. Go for it for a winter. See how you do. I ended keeping more cash
in my pocket, Big Time.

>Quite honestly, the first thing I would want to know about any location you consider is "Has the power ever gone off during winter ?". Even if the answer is 'never', I would still be nervous about this idea. Think about when a possible power outage would occur - it would most likely happen during a blizzard. You might not even be able to get to the marina to check on the boat. Additionally, a marina could be low down on any priority list of locations needing to get their power restored. And if the power does go off for some reason, I don't see that there is anything you could do to save the boat.
