T&T: Tranny Oil Cooler

< Our Lugger engine came piped with a Bowman cooler on the raw water
side for
the Twin Disc. This bronze cooler has no provision for zincs. Having
previously "lost" a non-zinc protected gear oil cooler to
electrolysis on our
sailboat, >

Instead of putting zincs in my coolers I just moved them up above  
waterline so they drain out when the engine is shut down.  Been six  
years with no sign of any problems.  I just replaced the hoses with  
longer ones and mounted the coolers on the bulkhead behind the engine.
