T&T: Electrolysis experts, please stand up!

Our Lugger engine came piped with a Bowman cooler on the raw water side for  
the Twin Disc. This bronze cooler has no provision for zincs. Having  
previously "lost" a non-zinc protected gear oil cooler to electrolysis on our  
sailboat, I bought an inline zinc and installed it between the cooler and the  
stainless exhaust spray ring. While wiring  it to the cooler, I  wondered if this 
improvement in protecting the cooler might be detrimental to  the spray ring 
inlet fitting. Thoughts appreciated.
