T&T: Using a zinc guppy

Hello all     I am concerned with galvanic corrosion and am considering adding
a zinc guppy or grouper to hang over the side when we are in the marina.   I
am not sure where I can connect it to the boat where it will help the most.  I
would have thought I could connect it to the shore power outlet but my outlets
are plastic.    When the inverter was installed on the boat, a plate zinc was
installed on the bottom of the boat and the inverter was grounded to it.  Do I
need the added zinc in a grouper?     What are you all doing?
