Those three square-headed?bolts should have been wired. That is, a hole is drilled through each head, then a stainless wire is passed through all three heads then looped back on itself and securely twisted.? That way, none of the bolts can rotate out. At least, that's how it was?on our Gulfstar 36 trawler. So I'm guessing it's identical to what you have.?Although?a simple technique, it sure did give?me a lot of peace of mind.
You were lucky you didn't have to search for the shaft and prop. Here's hoping it continues during the big blow.
