Nice lines. Is she a conversion? Who designed and/or built her?"
Didn't cause any comments on the list.
Then, on Oct. 22, the Hans solved the mystery.
"Some info about Nomada. We ran part way down the NJ coast together and ended up at Cohansey overnight. Ater sme radio chatter I found the following: Nomada is a custom built conversion from a yard tug that spent its life on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. THe owner had a Tug and Barge yard and when he retired the Tug he cut off the superstucture and built it up himself with some of the retiring yard personnel. It is - from memory - steel , 130000 pound displacement, 3000 gallon fuel, 7.5' draft. It looks like a North Sea trawler now."
One picture IS worth a thousand words. I thought she was a conversion because the superstructure to me looked newer than the hull. Those stainless rails are up to the minute design wise.
