T&T: Southbound "outside" vs ICW?

Why go outside? Alanui is a stabilized Nordhavn 40 that draws 4.75 feet.
We touched bottom once on the way north in June. I had several people
suggest avoiding GA and N/S Carolina and we found that we absolutely LOVED
it. We can't wait to travel through the marshes and anchor in the coves.
We docked a lot on the way up and hope to anchor out at least 50% of the
time southbound. There are some outside trips, like Beaufort to Savannah
that will save a lot of time, but you'll miss some beautiful country.
Having said this, if you want someone to travel with we would be happy to
share the waters!
