Question someone on the list will know right off the bat. Checking for zincs
on Boatzinc.com they listed my Yanmar 4LHA's as using two types of zincs. E-2
and E-1F They wanted about $5.50 apiece. Now Torrensen Marine has the "zinc
only" for about $3.00. Can you rebuild the zincs? If so, how?
Are these zincs threaded NPT on the Yanmars? Everything else is metric or
BSPT.
Thirdly I saw a small bolt on the transmission oil cooler; I took it to be a
zinc as well but when I pulled it, it looks more like just a drain plug. Any
ideas?
One last question. The raw water run through the heat exchanger, then through
the tranny cooler, then the inter cooler and finally the oil cooler. The 3
heat exchanger zincs were barely existent all the rest showed little wear. Any
ideas?
