I just replaced the pump on my 8 BTD and during my research I found out that
the old pump, part #33636, has been replaced with part #48080; which is
essentially the same pump except is has a round cover with an O ring rubber
gasket and the seals have been upgraded due to a problem with a water leak
on the 33636. So, If you do not want to go with the rebuild kit, I would at
a minimum replace all seals in your older pump.
