And don't forget the sound, the Mississippi Sound. It's shallow and can be 
treacherous. Trick is to get on it when it's settled down after a front al 
passage and get back off it before another comes through. There are almost 
no all weather anchorages so it's either hang out in marinas or get across 
it quickly.
