T&T: Broadband Radar

There actually appears to be a revolution in radar 
technology.  Navico's "Broadband Radar" was just mentioned on 
Panbo.  It appears to offer dramatically better resolution and target 
discrimination, closer ranges and much less radiated energy (less 
than a cell phone).  Rather than bouncing signals off of a target and 
timing the return, it broadcasts a constantly increasing frequency 
and uses the delta in the frequency to compute the distance.  However 
they do it, the screen images are quite dramatically better than 
conventional radar.

I think the "satisfaction" half life of marine electronics is way too short.
