T&T: Prolonged boat storage?

When we arrive in FL in a month or so we need to make some concrete
decisions. I've been vacillating back and forth between shipping the boat
back to Seattle and going to AK next year or leaving it in FL, on the hard,
waiting for a buyer to surface.
If I leave it in FL I need to verify the insurance issues will not be an
issue. I hope that having it on the hard will mitigate the risk of it being
in FL during the hurricane season. I will call everyone's favorite
insurance guy, Al Golden, and verify that!
I found a place I might be able to keep it on the hard and under cover. I
would have to step the mast, but that's a good reason to clean it anyway.
Do any list members have strong feelings about keeping a boat on the hard
for a prolonged period of time? It seems to me the boat sale market is
almost dead (for smaller boats) and it could easily take a few years to sell
(another good reason to take it to AK).
I hope to install an air-conditioned that will keep the humidity and temps
down and to fly to FL every few months to make sure it's A-OK. I also told
Yacht Path if they have some free deck space I might take a booking, but
only if its discounted. Anyway, hard to believe the journey is winding down
and I'm having to deal with these issues! It's been a fun trip and I
wouldn't change a thing!!!!
