as a seattle native, one thing always happens when outsiders move here...due
to seattle`s location between mountain ranges, we have slightly different
weather than most southern locals...people will move here in late
march/april, and enjoy our spring/summer/fall weather...always get told it`s
sure nice here! then in november when the monsoons arrive, so do the
complaints! 'that all it does around here is rain!'...so i explain to them
that our trees are green, because of the water! one, 100ft fir tree, is
suspected of drinking abt 100 gallons a day! when one drives north from
sacremento, the green gets darker the farther north one goes..seattle has an
average of 37" in a normal yr...ketchikan is around 165"/year...prince
rupert is (i think) 200" per yr...the west coast of vancooover islnd is 220"
yearly, and moss is everywhere...mostly on the north side of the trees...the
average winter is approx 3 months! it`s at times like living near the
ocean...if you don`t like the weather, wait a few minutes!...i`ve been all
over our country, and for some reason, i`m always happy to get bk to the
christmas trees, and salt chuck!...c
