But if you're too reckless to heed Marin's sage advice and you just have to
risk your life in Puget Sound and BC... for heaven's sake DON'T come up to
Alaska!  

The already lousy PNW weather is 100X worse up here, we often go years at a
stretch w/o seeing the sun.  Diesel costs $12 a gallon if you can even get
it, and our currency exchange rate is outrageous.  If you're lucky enough to
avoid being run over by a cruise ship, you'll probably hit an iceberg and
sink in the frigid water.  No point swimming to shore - the bears will just
eat you, if the orcas don't get you first.  

And then there's those Russians next door...
