I assume that this is a multi-conductor cable supplying power to the
GPS, and carrying data back to the display, rather than a coax
carrying the actual GPS RF signals. If it is a multiconductor cable,
it should be safe to cut and splice it.
I don't know what connectors Furuno uses, but some other marine
instrument makers use Switchcraft EN3 connectors, or a similar
connector from Conxall - both available from Digikey. Suitable cable
may also be available from Digikey - but it may be cheaper and safer
to cut the Furuno cable, as you know the connectors will fit.
