Many radios used to have this bug, activated by hanging the mic on a
grounded mounting clip - it can be annoying if you have a reason to
stay on a working channel.

I was once doing race committee work on a boat with this feature.  The
competitors were to check in with us on 73, but every time the person
taking checkins hung up the mic, the radio switched back to 16.  She
soon stopped hanging up the mic, and just let it hang.  The radio was
overhead, above the engine controls, and the mounting button on the
back of the mic would hit the controls, returning the radio to 16 -
damned annoying!
