Ran the Georgia ICW today, well most of it anyway, playing the tides. I
wasn't the only one trying it, i spent most of the daty following the 145'
Westport Fighting Irish!

Elba Island Cut (just south of the Sav. River) is often mentioned as a
trouble spot, not sure why, it's all nice and deep, 10' MLW minimum.

Hell Gate:

10' MLW at G87
i aimed halfway between G89 and the Diamond marker on red side and never found
less than 9' MLW
By the Diamond marker i saw about 15' MLW before turning toward G89
9' MLW by G89
gradually going up to 7' MLW between G89 and R90
8.5 MLW 50' off R90
10' MLW off R92

Little Mud River, all on center line:

8' MLW by G193
7.5' MLW south of G193
6' MLW by R194
6' MLW all the way to G195, with a little more water on the Green side (there
is a shoal that extends into the channel by the range marker across from
G195

So, if you draw over 5', play the tides at Hell and LMR!

Golden Isle Marina in St Simmons has new dock and new pedestals, although
dockage went up a quarter to $2 a foot. still a good stop though
