T&T: Aluminum Fuel Tank Repair Options

I searched the archives with no luck so now I would like the opinions of the
list. I have four 88 gal aluminum diesel tanks on my single engine trawler.
They were installed in 1985 and sit on 1x10 boards spaced out in a pattern to
follow the stringers below. Moisture got between the tanks and the boards and
now one of them is leaking. I removed it yesterday to find some significant
corrosion in a few places around the bottom perimeter of the tank where it was
in contact with the wet boards. I would have to assume that the tank next to
this one has similar corrosion. Once repaired, they will be reinstalled in a
better manner to reduce further corrosion. I frankly do not want to go to the
expense of having new tanks fabricated because this is more of a budget boat
and is not the one that I'm going to invest my significant time and money in
for cruising. What are my best options for repair? The options I see so far
are: coat the inside
with tank coating epoxy, Fiberglass over the outside bottom and 1/4 up the
sides, try those aluminum brazing rods I see advertised on the net, and have a
weld shop fill the bad spots or have them cut the bottom off and put a new
sheet on the bottom. I have no idea if it is baffled as there is no
inspection port. It's pretty light so I doubt there is any baffling. Please
feel free to elaborate on any repair schemes.
Thanks,
