If you or your wife have any military connection, such as that shown at the 
end of my email below, you meet the membership requirements for joining USAA 
and can begin banking at USAA Federal Savings Bank in San Antonio.  They offer 
free worldwide ATM, credit cards with no annual fees, as well as many other

No connection other than having been a  USAA member for a long time.
