OK, guys, check out the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico due to run off of
fertilizer from corn farms in Utah trying to boost corn output for ethanol
creation, apart from the fact that sugar cane makes 6 time more ethanol per
acre than corn and that fertilizer has been pouring in there for years with no
EPA action or desire to act.
Us Canucks up here have had enough of sewage
dumping into our waters by anyone but Marinas are reluctant without subsidy to
install pump out stations. Further up the coast most Marinas are on septic
systems which currently could not tolerate any added loads. Even in Vancouver
harbour there is a sad lack of facilities and coupled with an active charter
fleet it is a poor situation, we even had a floating office here that
installed their own holding system with a pumped discharge to City sewer but
the City shut them down. Most of Vancouver buildings are on a combined storm
and sanitary system and it's taking years and tons of $$ to seperate.
The best
I have seen is in Ft LAuderdale on the New River, free and lots of them. Just
my 2c.
